General Informations

 

Sample acceptance: Monday to Thursday 7:30 am to 4:00 pm

     Friday 7.30 am to 3:00 pm

    Outside these time windows samples may be received and processed, if individually arranged

Collection of samples

Prior to any sample collection please

  • label each vial clearly with first and last name as well as DOB of your patient or safely attach your hospitals patient label containing these data. 
  • please inform your patient about the intended genetic diagnostic test according your countries legal regulations and obtain written consent by either the patient or its legal custodian
  • Please completely fill out and sign our request form and confirm informed consent of your patient or alternatively provide these data on your own forms.
  • please clearly state your name and contact address incl. phone number and email address as responsible physician and confirm mode of payment.

Please understand, that

  • we have to discard samples without identity, if their origin may not be traced unambiguously.
  • contamination with cells or tissues of other individuals has to be strictly avoided, because subsequent PCR amplification might result in genetic data, not or not exclusively corresponding to your patient.

The following parameters might affect technical and/or medical evaluation of the intended genetic testing and should be clearly marked with your request:

  • bone marrow transplant any time prior to sample collection
  • patient itself or pregnancy conceived by either oocyte or sperm donation
  • any hematological condition, associated with neutropenia, lymphocytopenia, leukemia

Shipment

For international shipments please preferentially send the sample latest by Tuesday and attach custom declaration outside and inside the envelope to avoid delay at a customs office! In any case, chose carrier with transportation within 2-3 work days and use safe envelopes to ensure safe arrival of the sample in our lab.

If you plan to send samples for prenatal testing, please contact us by mail or phone in advance in order to arrange immediate processing.

If shipment is not possible on the day of sample collection, you may store your sample for molecular genetic testing at +4 °C.
